Where does funding for roads, bridges and stormwater projects come from?
Gas Tax
We receive 8.8% of the County's share of the State's gasoline tax. License Plate Fees The Statewide fee for passenger cars is $20 per vehicle. Other vehicle plate fees vary based on usage and weight. Lucas County has enacted two of the three allowable $5 per vehicle fees allowed by the State legislature to be enacted by Counties. |
Other Funds include:
Funds for specific projects are sometimes available from state or federal sources. Lucas County actively pursues this outside funding from frequent partners like the Ohio Public Works Commission (OPWC). These OPWC funds are for infrastructure improvements and are distributed on a competitive basis.
