Lone Oak DitchThe Village of Whitehouse filed a Single County Ditch Petition with the Lucas County Board of Commissioners in February 2020 to place Lone Oak Ditch under petition for "drainage improvements" that are most beneficial for all benefiting property owners along the ditch. In February 2021, the village filed an amended petition with the commissioners.

First Public HearingThe first public viewing and hearing for the petition were held from June-August 2021 to allow the commissioners and residents to pose questions to the county engineer on the process and scope of the project.

At this time, portions of the ditch have been maintained relatively well and are currently disposing of surplus water. However, portions of the ditch downstream of the Oak Crossing subdivision require maintenance as they have been neglected for decades. Without proper maintenance, the entirety of the ditch will have issues disposing of surplus water due to brush on the banks and siltation of the channel, which inhibits flow, in the future.
