Project Summary
The Lucas County Engineer’s Office proposes the construction of a modern roundabout at the intersection of Bancroft Street and McCord Road in Springfield Township.
The scope of work includes constructing a modern roundabout, removing the existing traffic signal, and roadway widening along both Bancroft Street and McCord Road. A center two-way left turn lane will be added on McCord Road from just north of Dorr Street to north of Bancroft Street and on Bancroft Street from McCord Road to Wilford Drive. The project will also add sidewalks and crosswalks on all approaches to facilitate non-motorized traffic traversing through the new roundabout and connect to existing sidewalks along both roadways. Widened shoulders on Bancroft Street from McCord Road to Wilford Drive will connect with existing bike lanes east of Wilford Drive. Construction of this project is partially funded with Highway Safety Improvement Program (H.S.I.P) Funds received through the County Engineer’s Association of Ohio (CEAO) and the Ohio Public Works Commission and an Ohio Department of Transportation Safety grant. |
