Project Summary
The Lucas County Engineer's Office's Annual Chip Seal Program will be performing chip seal preventative maintenance on the following roads across Providence, Richfield, Harding, Spencer, Waterville, Monclova and Swanton Townships:
Brown Road (from Cousino Road to Short Road - 0.17 mile), Cousino Road (from Brown Road to Corduroy Road - 2.53 miles); Decant Road (from S.R. 2 to Corduroy Road - 1.48 miles); Elliston Road (Ottawa County line to S.R. 2 - 1.12 miles), Nissen Road (Ottawa County line to Brown Road - 0.15 miles); Seaman Road (Decant Road to Yondota Road - 1.01 miles); and Yondota Road (Brown Road to S.R. 2 - 1.00 mile).
Chip seal treatment helps to extend the life of a road in good condition by five to seven years. It is also extremely cost efficient and costs a fraction of the cost it would take to fully resurface a road.
Construction of this project is funded through our annual budget, which is made up of gas tax and license plate fees.
