Project Summary
The Lucas County Engineer's Office's Annual Chip Seal Program will be performing chip seal preventative maintenance on the following roads in Jerusalem Township: Brown Road (from Cousino Road to Short Road - 0.17 mile), Cousino Road (from Brown Road to Corduroy Road - 2.53 miles); Decant Road (from S.R. 2 to Corduroy Road - 1.48 miles); Elliston Road (Ottawa County line to S.R. 2 - 1.12 miles), Nissen Road (Ottawa County line to Brown Road - 0.15 miles); Seaman Road (Decant Road to Yondota Road - 1.01 miles); and Yondota Road (Brown Road to S.R. 2 - 1.00 mile).
Chip seal treatment helps to extend the life of a road in good condition by five to seven years. It is also extremely cost efficient and costs a fraction of the cost it would take to fully resurface a road.
Construction of this project is funded through our annual budget, which is made up of gas tax and license plate fees.
